Wedding Dress Exhibition 2000
An exhibition of wedding dresses was held on the weekend of the 16th and 17th of September at St. Mary’s Church in aid of the Tower Fund. Forty-three very beautiful dresses were kindly lent by their owners for the display. The oldest dress was an exquisite, feminine and dainty Edwardian dress that is owned by the Secker family and was worn in 1918. This dress held pride of place centred in front of the altar. Also on display were many family christening gowns and outfits. The oldest was owned by Eddie MacLeod and was first used in 1903. The event was well attended and raised £350 towards the Tower Fund.
